Our annual learn to row course started last week with many of our members volunteering their time to help the new recruits get a taste of some on water action.
The men were out on the water on Saturday afternoon whilst the women were out on the water on Sunday afternoon. Our newest rowers, put to use the new skills they had learnt in the tank, such as how to the sit the boat, stopping the boat and backing down. The coaches worked with them in getting that all important sequencing of the rowing stroke together with crew timing. What’s more, the Cambridge University Boat Club paid us a visit and rowed right past the club in 4 8+’s as the men boated for their session on Saturday. Talk about inspiration & motivation!
We are excited to see what our newest men and women will bring to the club on and off the water. Check back in in 6 weeks time to see their progress.
