About the event
The Hilda Mitchell Cup is an event that has been raced on the tideway since 1921. Originally a competition between Quintin Boat Club and Ibis Boat Club, Putney Town Rowing Club joined the ranks of competition in 2014. Through the years, there have been many gaps in when the event was held, whether due to wars, political conflicts, the demise of Ibis RC, pandemics, or other inferences. The last known competition was in 2016.
We are very excited to revive the Hilda Mitchell Cup this year as a friendly competition on the tideway between PTRC and our neighbours across the river, MAABC and QBC!
Racing begins at 10:30am. The BBQ at Mortlake's beach begins at 2pm. Weather is expected to be cracking!
